  • At least 4 MB free disk space
  • Pentium 2 450 MHz or faster CPU
  • Full Duplex Sound Card
  • Noise Canceling Microphone

A word about Sound Cards:
Most PCs shipped today have what is known as full duplex sound cards. In other words, the sound card
can send and receive data simultaneously. Typical systems configured for gamers or business applications
are configured with full duplex sound cards. USB microphones, including Bluetooth mics, leverage their own
sound card via the USB port.  If you have an older system, you may want to check to make sure your
sound card is full duplex, if not, get a USB microphone.

MICROPHONES
The microphone is an important part of any voice recognition system. No question, you will get the best
results with a headset style noise canceling microphone. Monaural (single ear piece) and Stereo (dual ear
piece) headset microphones are available at most computer stores. That said; VR Commander’s voice
recognition engine is powerful enough to filter out unwanted noise, therefore allowing most microphones
to yield acceptable performance.  The table below offers some suggestions on the best microphone to use
for your applications:
