Our Product - VR Commander
WHAT IS VR COMMANDER?
VR Commander is a state of the art voice command and control program that adds
a voice interface to virtually any windows based application.  Simulate keystrokes,
run any file or script and input
preprogrammed text strings of any size into games
and applications using voice commands.  This technology is so powerful it is used to
command and control some of today's most advanced fighter aircraft.  We even
support Bluetooth microphones.  If you use VOIP, you need VR Commander.

VR Commander’s main uses are for command and control of:
•        Games and Simulators
•        CAD Applications
•        Business Applications

VR Commander is designed to augment the use of keyboard and mouse to control
games and applications.

The Main Control Panel is the one-stop starting point for using VR Commander.
Once you turn it on, it gets out of the way.

MAIN FEATURES
The following section details some of the key features and product highlights of VR
Commander.  We have added a brief discussion regarding types of voice recognition
technology so that the reader can better distinguish VR Commander from the other
programs which attempt to perform similar functions.

Important Features of VR Commander

Intuitive Operation
VR Commander is designed to load and go.  We use a flat menu structure and a
simple yet very powerful application template approach that anyone can use.   We
augment the use of a keyboard and mouse with voice control for repetitive tasks,
fast paced action or simply adding a fun user interface to your games and
applications.  Mouse over tool tips and keyboard short cuts make VR Commander
simple to learn and use.

Launch any file or macro using Voice Commands
New features allow any file or macro to be launched using a voice command.   This
command type is very useful to launch macros, VB Scripts, ActiveX Scripts, Jscripts,
WSH scripts and Wav or other sound files, etc.

Simulate Keystrokes using Voice Commands
This feature is similar to using hotkeys on your keyboard, except they are now
initiated by issuing voice commands instead of punching keys.  Most windows based
applications allow for key stroke short cuts or hot keys to aid program operation.
VR Commander provides the user the ability to program up to 30 key strokes with a
single voice command.  This is a massive time saver.  Couple this with our new push
to talk options, and you will wonder how you ever lived without VR Commander.

Input preprogrammed text strings into applications using Voice Commands
New features allow text strings of any size to be input into your voice enabled
application using a voice command.  This feature is great for signatures, repetitive
text in emails or word processors and instant messaging programs.  The use is
limitless.

Integrates with VOIP Programs
True gamers know that half the fun is chatting with friends or communicating with
the team while playing games or simulations.  VR Commander offers an intuitive
interface for toggling between command and control of your application and talking
to your teammates over the Internet.  VR Commander works the way you play
games!

Lightning Fast Response Time
VR Commander is lightening fast. As fast as you can say a command, VR
Commander responds.  Continuous speech recognition technology allows VR
Commander to work at the speed of today’s fast paced games and applications.

Supports Bluetooth Microphones
VR Commander’s voice recognition engine filters out un-wanted noise which enables
most microphones including Bluetooth microphones to work effectively.  Bluetooth
mics are ideal for driving PowerPoint presentations hands free or other applications
where it’s not convenient to be wired to the computer.  Please see the User Tips
section of the User Guide to optimize your VR Commander Application settings for
Bluetooth microphones.

Non-Intrusive - Does not get in the way of the application or playing the game.
The VR Commander icon sits in the application tray at the bottom of the Microsoft
OS desktop.  Right click to start using VR Commander or to bring up the Main
Control Panel to load a new application template.  No annoying windows or complex
menus to divert from the real mission - that is having fun or being more productive.

Application Templates - Easy to set up, Powerful to use
A key feature of VR Commander is how we use templates to drive applications.  The
template process begins by typing in a series of key strokes, a file or macro or a
text string and assigning a voice command to those items.  Simple as that, you just
created a voice command for your application!  Templates can be one command or a
thousand, it’s up to you to determine how much functionality you wish to control
with your voice.  Once the template is set up, you can share them with friends via
email.  In addition, we will be publishing some of the more frequently used
templates from our website, so if you build a template that you are interesting in
sharing, please email it to us at support@vrcommander.com.

Built in Noise Cancellation - Incredible Performance
Background noise is the nemesis of most Voice Recognition technologies - Not for VR
Commander. Our built in noise canceling algorithms provide simply the best noise
canceling performance in the industry.  You have to try it to experience it for
yourself.  Turn up that air conditioner, don't be afraid to use VR Commander
outdoors - this stuff works!

Speaker Independent - No User Training Required
That’s right folks, if you speak English; VR Commander should be able to
understand you without having to train the system first.  Our technology is speaker
independent.  Most other voice recognition engines on the market today require
that the system be trained to understand the user's voice.  We think that is a pain,
what happens if you want your buddy to try out your new voice controlled
application?  No problem with VR Commander. We offer the most sophisticated voice
recognition engine available.  (Please note that other languages are under
development – if you are interested in using VR Commander with other languages,
please send us a note at support@vrcommander.com)

Voice Recognition Technology

Command & Control versus Dictation versus Wave Pattern Matching
There are three different types of technologies used by speech recognition
programs today: Dictation, Wave Pattern Matching and Command & Control.
A dictation program essentially records everything you say by attempting to turn
speech into text.  This type of program requires a significant amount of training for
each user and has yielded historically spotty results. The training is usually done
over time which means that it may take days or even weeks to achieve acceptable
recognition performance.

Some systems offering similar functionality to VR Commander do not use true voice
recognition technology at all; in fact they use what is known as wave pattern
matching.   These systems require the user to prerecord wave samples which are
slow and operate poorly in noise.

A command & control program places a context around what it hears and does
when the user speaks into the system.  In other words, its not trying to interpret a
100,000 plus dictionary at all times like dictation engines. The user tells the system
what to listen for in advance.  The results are a dramatic improvement in accuracy
and performance.  VR Commander is a command and control program which has a
very small footprint, is lightening fast and incredibly accurate.  VR Commander
delivers results you expect from one of today's most advance voice recognition
technologies.

Continuous versus Discrete
Old style Voice Recognition Systems force the user to speak in halting, single word
phases.  This is required to allow these old style systems to understand and
interpret what was said before moving on to the next word.
Continuous speech recognition lets you speak in a more natural fluid pace.  VR
Commander's continuous speech recognition engine allows for a more realistic,
exciting and productive experience for the user.  Our system is lighting fast, so
there are no delays when words are spoken and action is taken by the program.
